Knicks vs Pelicans injury report for April 7: Is Jalen Brunson playing?
The New York Knicks were without Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, and RJ Barrett on Wednesday, but that didn’t matter. Immanuel Quickley, Quentin Grimes, and Obi Toppin all scored 30+ points in New York’s 138-129 win over Indiana.
The Knicks are locked into the No. 5 seed, so the team is now resting players for the playoffs. The Pelicans will compete in the play-in tournament as they sit at No. 8 in the West with a 41-39 record. However, New Orleans needs to fight to not drop down a seed or two, which would make it harder for the team to advance past the play-in.
The Pelicans have won three of their last four games. On Wednesday, New Orleans beat Memphis in overtime, 138-131. Like the Knicks, three Pelicans players scored 30+ points (Herb Jones, CJ McCollum, Trey Murphy III).
This game will mean more to New Orleans, but even if New York is without a few key players again, the Knicks’ youngsters could pull out another win.
