Knicks News: New York makes two-way roster move, MSG streaming service

Last week, the New York Knicks announced that they had signed 2022 second-round pick Trevor Keels to a 10-day contract. Instead of adding a player in the buyout market, the Knicks opted to fulfill the minimum 14-man roster requirement with Keels, who has appeared in only one game for New York this season.

With one roster spot left open, the Knicks signed 22-year-old guard Duane Washington Jr. to a two-way contract on Tuesday. Washington was waived by the Suns on Feb. 1 ahead of the trade deadline and will now be joining the Knicks. He went undrafted in 2021 and then signed a two-way contract with Indiana, where he averaged 9.9 points and 1.8 assists in 48 games while shooting 40.5% from the floor and 37.7% from three.

In the 31 games that Washington played in Phoenix this season, he averaged 7.9 points, 2.0 assists, and 1.2 rebounds while shooting 36.7% from the field and 36% from deep.

With Tom Thibodeau’s shortened rotation that doesn’t feature Derrick Rose or Evan Fournier, Washington will likely spend the majority of his time with the Knicks on the bench.

MSG Networks will launch a streaming service this summer that will feature Knicks, Rangers, and Devils games. MSG+ will cost $29.99 per month or $309.99 annually.
