2. Julius Randle needs to prove himself

For Julius Randle, the goal is simple, be at WORST the second-best player on the Knicks come playoff time. Nothing else should matter for the Knicks two time all-NBA forward. Beyond some magical MVP run there is no regular season accomplishment that would mean anything to the fans of this organization.

In Randles first post season he came up small to say the least, he averaged a pedestrian 18 points-per-game on an ugly 30% from the field. His second post season, albeit riddled with injuries, saw Randle score even less than his first outing with a higher but still inefficient 37% from the floor.

If Randle is a clear top two option during the regular season this year he must also be that during the post season, anything less and the Knicks may have to come to terms with the idea that this team has reached their ceiling with Julius Randle as a cornerstone for this franchise.
