The New York Knicks are just half a game behind the Miami Heat for the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference, and they’re looking to create a larger gap between themselves and the No. 8 seed Atlanta Hawks when they face Atlanta on Wednesday night.
New York was blown out in Atlanta the last time these teams faced off, but the Knicks are playing some great basketball as of late, winning two straight since the acquisition of Josh Hart at the trade deadline.
No team has been as good as the Knicks on the road this season from a betting perspective (18-10 against the spread), and the Hawks are just 9-12 against the spread as home favorites.

I have a bit of a contrarian bet in this game, even though both teams have been thriving on offense as of late.
Over their last 10 games, the Knicks rank sixth in the NBA in offensive rating, and Atlanta has been even better, clocking in at No. 3 in offensive rating.
Despite that, I think the UNDER is the play in this game for a few reasons.
The last time these teams matched up, the Hawks won 139-124 in Atlanta, but the two previous matchups went way under today’s total of 233.5. The first game between these teams finished with 211 combined points, and the second was even lower at 202.
In fact, six of the last seven games between these teams have fallen short of this number.
The Knicks, despite their strong offensive play, are still one of the slower paced teams in the NBA, ranking 27th in pace this season.
New York’s offense has been thriving, yet the team has fallen short of 233.5 combined points in five of its last seven games.
The Hawks have also fallen short of this line in five of their last seven.
These teams have hit the OVER more than the UNDER this year, but I think this total is a little too high given how they’ve played each other this season.
